MEDITATING IN THE WATER

I had been teaching for a year at AQUA and creating public installations with TAPIN when I came across Kundalini Yoga & Meditation.  I had finished an art installation called Out Fear and was moving onto our happiness installation.  I was two years into grief and still struggling with anger.  Kundalini had the ability to physically challenge me while open me mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  

I began Kundalini Level 1 training with Hari Kaur Khalsa.  We bonded over our shared fiery spirit, business acumen and love of water.  After Hari came to AQUA, we had frequent discussions about meditating in water and the power of water for women, for the feminine spirit.  How we each have a water story and a special relationship with water. Specifically, how our relationship with water has shaped our lives and what we can do to keep water sacred to ourselves and our feminine power.  

When I meditated it was as close to the experience I have when I am in water.  I wondered what it would be like if the two were combined and I tried it at AQUA.  Hari helped me design meditations to try in the water, which I began using after Aquacycling class with my all women classes.  We roduced 5 audio water meditations to try in the bathtub with Sat Kirin's music for Sonima, an online wellness magazine, that have over 10,000 views total on Youtube.

While chanting and meditating in water I could feel the sound reverberate in my cells and felt a closer connection with the mantra and myself.
